About the show
Everything you were taught.
Reconsidered, badly, by Dale.
INVERTED is a fictitious comedy podcast about conspiracy thinking — recorded, in-universe, in a gas station cellar by two lifelong friends. Dale has done his own research into everything. Bryce checks the sources. That’s the show. That’s been the show since the casserole.
Every episode runs the same three-question framework Dale insists on: What were we conditioned to believe? What is the actual truth? Why? — and every episode, the framework does the same thing: it shows you exactly how a man gets from one true footnote to a poster tube. The conspiracy isn’t the punchline. The epistemology is. Dale is a lovable, laminating warning label.
Sometimes the documents are real — the show rings church bells when they are — because real abuses of power are the factory where Dales are manufactured. The rest is yarn, and the yarn has a soundtrack.
The Cast / all fictional, even the duck
Dale
Host / Believer
Researcher, laminator owner, former jet ski financier (29% APR). Dale has done his own research into everything and the research is a poster tube. Banned from one airline, one delivery app, and the quiet part of the library. He cannot secure his own shed.
Bryce
Co-host / The Floor
Fact-checker, folder-keeper, reluctant co-signer of the studio lease (a gas station cellar). Bryce verifies everything live on air, hates it when the documents are real, and maintains the show’s only piece of equipment that matters: the counter.
Tracy
Recurring / Second Mom
The sweetest woman alive. Makes a casserole that has ended arguments the hosts couldn’t. Has extremely specific opinions about biblical prophecy that arrive mid-sentence and leave the same way. Praying for both hosts. Bryce especially.
The Raccoon
Recurring / Shed Tenant
Resides in Dale’s shed, rent-free, since Episode 04. Has a family now. Has never once been addressed directly on air. The closest thing the show has to a landlord.
HR
Compliance / Bryce’s Mom
Reviews the eyebrow-thing incidents. Maintains the folder (now with tabs). Disappointed, but in a loving way. The only authority Dale has ever respected.
The Duck
Evidence
Holds down the corner of Dale’s evidence board. Not to be confused with the second duck (the lake duck, Episode 09), who remains, in Dale’s words, inconclusive.
House Rules / taped to the cellar wall
- 01
The jokes target Dale. Never victims, never the grieving, never the dead.
- 02
Each claim gets its own folder. Being right about one thing is not being right about the next thing.
- 03
Real documents get the church bells. Real scandals deserve better than yarn.
- 04
When Dale finds a valid point, the counter resets. DAYS SINCE DALE RUINED A VALID POINT: 0.
- 05
The eyebrow thing goes to HR. Every time.
